This injection-molded plastic kit captures the CM-34 infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35 scale. It differs from the transport versions of the same eight-wheeled family in having a turret with a 30 mm autocannon, which gives the vehicle considerably stronger firepower.
The eight-wheeled vehicles of the Yunpao line, the Clouded Leopard, are a Taiwanese domestic program of wheeled armored equipment. They share a welded armored hull, 8x8 all-wheel drive and a layout with the engine at the front and the fighting compartment at the rear. The CM-34 version carries a manned turret with an autocannon and is intended for combat against lightly armored targets and for support of the dismounting infantry. It is told apart from the wheeled carriers precisely by the turret with its long barrel and by the different arrangement of the roof gear.
Build the turret and the hull separately and join them only after painting; that makes work with the shades in the space under the turret much easier. Check the long barrel against the light for straightness and drill the muzzle out with a fine drill if needed. Clean up the joints on the vertical walls of the hull by sanding in one direction, so that the structure of the armor is preserved. Start the painting with filler primer, continue with the base tone and suggest the scale effect with a difference in shades on the large surfaces. Give the wheels particular care, because the treads are very visible on the model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
