A detail set in 1:35 scale containing, according to the name, 105 pieces of rubber sleeves for the rear lights of American armored vehicles. It is not a kit and not a model in its own right, but an accessory which is added to an already built vehicle or to a part-built kit. Rear lights and their protective sleeves are among the small things on American equipment that are clearly visible on a model from the rear, that is from the view from which vehicles in a display case are photographed most often. Injection-molded parts from kits tend to be simplified and thickened in shape in these places.
The high number of pieces in the package makes the set a supply for several kits at once, so it suits serial building of a column or a diorama with several vehicles as well.
First clean the small parts and rid them of any remains of gates. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a toothpick; ordinary cement for plastic need not hold on another material. It is practical to paint the parts while they are still on a surface before fitting; the individual pieces are then only glued on and touched up with a brush. For weathering use a dark wash in the recesses and a light dry brush, so that the shape stands out. Because of the size of the parts, work over a surface with a rim, so that a lost piece can be found.
This is a detail accessory. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
