The set is not a standalone model but an accessory meant to be fitted to the Trumpeter plastic kit of the Soviet T-80B main battle tank. The fine metal parts replace the coarser plastic elements and add details that are missing.
The T-80B is a Soviet main battle tank that became famous for using a gas turbine as its powerplant. The B version brought an improved fire-control system and the ability to launch guided missiles through the gun barrel. The vehicle carries a 125 mm smoothbore gun with an autoloader and is among the high-performance tanks of the Cold War.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and make the bends along the etched score lines. Use super glue to bond the metal, and before painting degrease it and go over it with a primer for metal. The hull sides, the grilles and the tie-down loops show at their best once brought out with a wash and dust pigments.
This is an add-on photo-etched set. The base plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
