Aber 1:35 photo-etched detail set - Sd.Kfz.184 Elefant is a photo-etched metal accessory for refining the build of the Elefant heavy tank destroyer.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a photo-etched metal detail set, not a kit for the whole vehicle. The set adds fine metal details to the plastic model of the Elefant heavy tank destroyer: meshes, brackets, metal fittings and small superstructure features, which injected plastic cannot capture at the right thickness. It is meant as an add-on for a model of this vehicle in 1:35 scale.
The Elefant was a rebuilt and improved version of the Ferdinand heavy tank destroyer. After the action at Kursk, the surviving vehicles were reworked in 1943 and 1944: they received a machine gun in the hull front for close defense, a commander's cupola, a coating of Zimmerit and other small changes. The armament stayed the same, a long 88 mm anti-tank gun in a fixed casemate. The vehicles went on fighting in Italy and on the Eastern Front.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a glass surface and form the bends on a photo-etch bending tool. To bond metal to plastic, use cyanoacrylate or epoxy glue. Apply a metal primer before painting; a wash and pigments will bring both the Zimmerit texture and the large armor surfaces to life.
This is a detail set, not a vehicle model. The base kit, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
