Responsibility details are not available.
The package holds four turned metal barrels of the German 20 mm anti-aircraft cannon with a length of 65 calibers in 1:35 scale, that is, exactly as many as the four-barreled Flakvierling 38 mount carries. This is not a kit but a detail accessory. It is on this weapon above all that replacing the plastic barrels is the most effective improvement possible, because four thin long tubes side by side give away every unevenness, every parting line and any difference in the length of the moldings at once.
The Flakvierling 38 was a German four-barreled 20 mm anti-aircraft mount made up of four Flak 38 cannons on a common carriage. It was used on towed carriages, on the beds of trucks, on half-tracks and on special anti-aircraft tanks. Thanks to its high combined rate of fire it was among the most feared weapons against low-flying aircraft, and it told against ground targets as well. For modelers it is a rewarding subject with a quantity of small details.
Cut off the plastic barrels and, if need be, redrill the seating with a micro drill, so that the metal parts sit parallel, which on a four-barreled mount is crucial. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, trying the positions dry first. Before painting, degrease the surface and lay on a base coat for metals. The barrels are painted in a dark gray shade with a hint of scorching at the muzzle, and a dark wash suits the perforation of the jacket.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
