The M4A3E8 is a late version of the American Sherman medium tank. It differed from the earlier forms above all in a chassis with horizontal suspension and wider tracks, which improved its ride and reduced ground pressure, and in a 76 mm gun with a higher muzzle velocity. It was in exactly this form that Shermans still served in the first half of the 1950s, when units in Korea used them alongside newer types. Wide tracks and a longer barrel with a muzzle brake are the characteristic recognition features.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the inner parts before you close the hull, as once the superstructure is on you will no longer reach them. It is a good idea to fit the tracks only after the basic spraying, so that the running gear can be properly touched in. Apply a filler primer to the hull, then the base shade, and modulate it with lighter tints on the horizontal surfaces. Accent the engraved lines and the rivets with a thin wash; create dust and mud with pigments from the running gear upward. Settle the decals onto a glossy intermediate coat and even the whole model out at the end with a matte varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
