This is not a tank model but a photo-etched metal detail set from Aber in 1:35 scale. The set holds the side armor skirts, the Schürzen, and their hangers for the German Panther medium tank in the Ausf. D and Ausf. A versions. The thin photo-etched plates of the skirts faithfully replace thick-walled plastic and look realistic even with bent or missing segments.
The Panther Ausf. D and Ausf. A were the early and mid-production versions of the German medium tank of the Second World War, with well sloped frontal armor and a 75 mm gun. Along the sides they carried hung thin armor skirts protecting the running gear against anti-tank rifles and shaped charge ammunition.
Separate the photo-etched skirts with a sharp knife; you get a realistic look by bending them slightly and suggesting damaged or missing plates. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and the hangers can be left movable. Apply a metal primer before painting.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
