Aber 1:35 side skirts for the Sturmgeschütz IV is a photo-etched metal detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber for models of military equipment in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Aber photo-etched metal detail set in 1:35 scale. It holds the Schürzen side protective plates for the Sturmgeschütz IV assault gun, including their true thickness and brackets. They replace the thicker plastic skirts and make it possible to render bent or missing pieces as well, as was common on vehicles in service.
The Sturmgeschütz IV (StuG IV) was a German assault gun on the Panzer IV chassis from the second half of the war. The Schürzen side plates protected the flanks and the running gear against armor-piercing and shaped charge ammunition; in the field they were often missing or damaged.
The photo-etched metal parts are thin and small, so separate them with a sharp knife on a cutting surface and bend them over a metal ruler or a photo-etch bending tool. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), as cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a coat of primer so that the finish holds; at the end a fine wash and pigments help to pick out the detail.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
