A resin accessory set in 1:35 scale, intended for models of the Tiger II heavy tank and of the E-50 and E-75 project vehicles. These are extensions for the exhausts that damped the visible flame from the exhaust pipes; in German the designation Flammvernichter is used for them. The set is marked as type 1, and the type 2 version is made as a separate item. It is not a model of a vehicle and not a kit but an accessory that replaces or completes the parts on a base model that is already built.
Resin castings allow a finer shape and thinner walls than injection-molded plastic can, so the mouth of the exhaust extensions can be worked with a visible opening. The exhaust area is precisely one that is clearly visible on a model and at the same time one of the places where patina comes into its own most, so a change to resin parts shows markedly in the result. The E-50 and E-75 vehicles stayed at the project stage, so their models are built as variants after period drawings.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the remains of mold release agent are removed, or the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and do not break them; sand resin wet and protect your breathing. They are glued with super glue, onto a plastic base ideally after the seating surface has been roughened. Put a filler primer on before painting. The exhaust area suits a combination of dark metallic shades with rusty pigments and a sooty shade at the mouth.
This is an accessory set, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
