A photo-etched set of storage racks for the Israeli M113 carrier in 1:35 scale, type 7, 2 pieces in the package. An accessory for a finished model, not a vehicle kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set in photo-etched metal in 1:35 scale contains, according to its name, two storage racks of the type 7 variant for models of Israeli M113 armored personnel carriers. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory for the outside of the hull. Numbered variants exist because the racks differed in shape and arrangement on individual vehicles and in individual periods of service, so a modeler can choose according to the particular machine being built.
External stowage is one of the typical features of Israeli M113s. Crews needed somewhere for equipment, supplies and personal belongings, and the racks on the sides and at the rear became so much taken for granted that a model looks incomplete without them. Photo-etched metal makes it possible to keep the sections thin and the mesh see-through, which is the main argument against a plastic substitute with an accessory of this kind.
Separate the parts with a scalpel on a hard surface or with metal shears, never with pliers. Sand the remains of the connecting tabs back with a fine file, so that the edge stays straight. Run the bends exactly along the etched score line, ideally on a bending tool. Hold the assembly together with cyanoacrylate glue applied drop by drop, so that the glue does not run into the mesh. Apply a primer for metal before painting. If you fill the racks with a load, bear in mind that the individual items are painted separately and go into the rack already painted, otherwise you will not reach them with a brush.
The supplementary set is supplied unpainted and without the basic kit. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
