1:35 StuG.III Ausf G. New rear superstucture armor

The real subject

The StuG III is a German assault gun built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw. III tank. It has no rotating turret; the 75 mm gun is mounted directly in the low fighting superstructure and is aimed within only a narrow range, so aiming to the side means turning the whole machine. The Ausf. G version is the most numerously produced form of this type and toward the end of the war was among the most common tracked vehicles of the German army.

What the set contains

The set brings a new form of the armor of the rear part of the fighting superstructure, that is the surface that is clearly visible on a finished model both from above and from behind and on which a later standard of the machine can be recognized. The extent of the set and the number of parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the package. It is intended for building in 1:35 scale, in which the rear of the superstructure reads well even without further modifications.

Building tips

Before you start gluing, lay the parts on dry and check how they seat on the superstructure of your kit. Cut the excess material and any marks from production off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest away carefully, leveling the mating surfaces flat. The suitable glue and the order of assembly are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Before painting, wash and degrease the whole, otherwise the paint will not hold as well on accessory parts as on the plastic of the kit.

Who it is for

The set is for modelers who want to refine the rear of the superstructure on the StuG III beyond what the base kit offers. It comes into its own above all where the vehicle is to be seen from behind, that is in a scene or on an open base. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
