Rye Field Model 1:35 T-34/85 Chinese Volunteer is a plastic kit of the T-34/85 medium tank in the equipment of the Chinese People's Volunteers.

A plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the Rye Field Model brand. The model captures the Soviet T-34/85 medium tank in the form in which it was used by units of the Chinese People's Volunteers. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the contents are injection-molded plastic. The exact make-up of the package and the number of parts are described in the instructions enclosed in the box.
The T-34/85 is the late development line of the Soviet T-34 medium tank. Against the original version it was given a larger three-man turret with a gun of 85 mm caliber, which freed the commander from serving the weapon and improved observation from the vehicle. The powerplant remained a twelve-cylinder diesel, and the running gear kept the Christie-type spring suspension with five large road wheels per side. It is precisely the combination of a simple design, wide tracks and good cross-country performance that made it a type produced in large numbers and used long after 1945 in a number of armies, among others in the Korean conflict at the beginning of the 1950s.
Assemble and paint the running gear before you finish the hull and attach the fenders — otherwise there is poor access between the wheels. The welds on the hull of the T-34 are coarse and pronounced, so do not sand them away while cleaning the parts up; on the contrary, it is a good idea to bring them out with a dark wash once painted. Apply a primer before painting. It is a good idea to break the base shade up with modulation and filters, so that the large smooth surfaces of the hull do not come across as flat. Dust and mud on the underside of the hull and on the tracks are captured well by pigments; apply the decals onto a gloss base and fix them with a softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
