It is neither a kit nor replacement wheels, but a masking accessory. The set serves a single purpose: so that a sharp and identical boundary arises on the road wheels between the rubber tire and the disk, without your having to draw it around with a brush or to cut a mask laboriously out of tape.
The set is cut for the wheels of the T-80 kit from Zvezda. The diameter of a wheel, the width of the tire and the shape of the disk differ for the same subject between manufacturers of kits, which is why wheel masks are always tied to a particular kit and need not fit a model of another brand. Before ordering, therefore, verify which kit you are actually building.
The set is of greatest use to a modeler who paints with an airbrush and wants the edge of the rubber absolutely the same on all the wheels. Drawing around by hand with a brush turns out slightly differently on every wheel, and that unevenness is visible on a finished running gear even after dusting — the eye reads it as a wavering of the line, even if it does not realize why. It will also be appreciated by anyone who builds quickly and does not want to spend a whole evening over one running gear, and by anyone who displays a model in a competition, where the running gear is judged close up.
It will, on the contrary, be pointless where a model ends up under a thick layer of mud and dust, which will cover the wheels anyway, where the wheels are largely hidden behind side skirts or behind fitted armor, and with a modeler who deliberately builds a heavily worn machine with scuffed and battered rubber — there an exact factory line would come across as rather out of place. Decide, therefore, according to how much the running gear will be visible on the finished model.
It is a masking accessory for modelers. The package holds neither a kit, wheels nor paints. Store the sheet flat and out of direct sunlight.
