A plastic kit of the Japanese helicopter ship Ise, listed as a helicopter destroyer, in 1:350 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Ise is a large surface unit of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, the second ship of the Hyuga class, which carries the hull number DDH-182. Formally it is listed as a helicopter destroyer, but in reality it is a ship with a continuous flight deck along the whole length of the hull, with an island superstructure on the starboard side and with a hangar below deck. It is intended mainly for the fight against submarines and for command of groups of ships, for which several helicopters deployed at once, elevators between the deck and the hangar, strong electronics and its own defensive armament all serve it. By its shape it belongs among the most striking modern surface ships of all.
This is a plastic kit in 1:350 scale, that is a model that is glued and painted before completion. The extent of the parts, the division of the hull and the enclosed markings follow from the manufacturer's instructions.
First verify whether you are building the whole hull or only its below-waterline part, and choose the bases accordingly. The large flat areas of the flight deck will give away every unevenness, so sand the joints carefully and apply the paint in thin layers. Do the deck markings only onto dry and smooth clear coat. Glue the fine superstructures and antennas only at the end, so that they are not broken off during handling.
The set is for modelers of modern warships and for collectors of the hardware of the Japanese navy. Paints, glue, putty and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
