A workbench and tools of the US Army in 1:35 scale from the maker AFV Club. It is not a model of a vehicle but an accessory set for a diorama and for furnishing a scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is neither a model of a vehicle nor a kit of equipment on its own. It is an accessory set in plastic in 1:35 scale that holds the furnishings of a field workshop - a workbench and tools. It serves to fill out a diorama scene, to complete a repair station or as a small detail beside the main model. The exact number and make-up of the parts are listed on the box.
A diorama convinces when activity can be seen around the main model. A workbench with tools laid out creates a situation around a vehicle - maintenance, a repair, preparation for a move - and gives the figures a reason for standing there. In 1:35 scale such small things read well and, seen from close up, they carry a large part of the impression of the whole scene. The set suits builds of the Second World War period and later equipment alike, because hand tools did not change much in their basic form.
Separate the small parts with sprue cutters and clean them up carefully, as they are easily lost - work over a mat with a raised edge. Paint the tools apart from the bench and fit them only afterwards, or you will not reach the places that are hard to get at. Metal parts take on a natural look after a dark wash and a fine dry brush; the wooden surfaces of the bench look good once the base shade has been applied and then scratched through or lightly worked over with oil paints. Finally, add dust and rubbing with pigments, so that the furnishings fit into the terrain around them.
This is an accessory set, not a model of a vehicle. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
