Tetra Model Works 1:35 U.S. M2A1 Cal.50 Ammo Box (Colored etching Parts) is a variant of the photo-etched set of M2A1 ammunition boxes with color-printed parts. It serves as an accessory for a finished model; it is not a kit.

Ammunition boxes of the M2A1 type for ammunition of 12.7 mm caliber in 1:35 scale, this time of color-printed photo-etch. The parts arrive already in color and with the markings, so priming the brass and the hand painting of captions, which in this scale are barely a millimeter, fall away. It is a detail accessory for a built model or for a diorama, not a model of equipment.
The M2A1 box is the later release of the American sheet-metal ammunition container for the heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber; against the older M2 type it differs in details of the lid, the catch and the handle. In practice it is visible in holders by the weapon, in racks on the body and loose, stacked in the load area as well - and because it carries a pronounced caption of the contents, it is a rewarding color accent on a model.
Printed photo-etch takes somewhat less violence than bare brass. Bend slowly and preferably in a bender, so that the paint does not crack on the edge; retouch any crack with a brush. Dose the cyanoacrylate glue with a wire, as a drop spread over the print leaves a glossy trace. Unify the finished boxes with a matte varnish, put a dark wash into the pressings and a light dust pigment on the bottom. Make the wear on the edges sparingly - the metal shows through under the print and looks realistic even without painting.
The set is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
