Warsaw Uprising, machine gunner from Toro Model is a resin figure in 1:35 scale for urban dioramas set in 1944.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure in 1:35, the most widespread diorama scale. The figure is caught as a machine gunner, that is, in a dynamic pose with a pronounced distribution of weight and with gear adapted to the weapon being carried. It is meant for an urban scene from 1944, among rubble, low walls and barricades, where a figure gives the model scale and movement. It is supplied as an unpainted casting for assembly.
The subject is a fighter from the battles in Warsaw in 1944. The clothing and gear of figures from this setting typically mix civilian items of dress with military elements, because no uniform equipment system was available. For the modeler that is an advantage: the individual parts of the figure will take different shades and material appearances, from working cloth through leather to metal. The weapon itself and its accessories form the visual center of the whole composition on a figure of this type.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; at the shoulder and arm joints try the position dry first, because that is what determines the final posture. Lay down a thin primer. Build the flesh up from the middle tone toward the highlights, and the clothing from the base tone through a wash in the folds to a light dry brush on the edges. Tell the different materials apart by the degree of sheen rather than by the saturation of the color: leather semi-matte, cloth matte, metal with a faint sheen. A final matte varnish unifies the surface and the figure fits better into the scene.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
