The item belongs to a line of themed sets in which the Ukrainian manufacturer ICM brings several of its own molds together in one package around a single theme. The theme here is Soviet rocket artillery of the Second World War in 1:35 scale. Check the contents against the enclosed instructions before building.
The rocket artillery of the Red Army consisted of salvo rocket launchers mounted on truck chassis. Their principle was simple: guide rails carried unguided rockets, which were fired in quick succession. The advantage was a great density of fire in a short time and the ability to change position quickly, the disadvantage the low accuracy of an individual round and the plain smoke and light signature on firing. They were used as whole batteries against area targets, not against individual vehicles.
With sets of this scope it pays to build in sub-assemblies and not to join them before they are painted. Finish and paint the chassis, the frame and the interior of the cab before the body is closed, otherwise you will not reach them again. The launcher has many thin and repeating parts — prepare a template or a jig, so that the rails stay parallel. Start the painting with a base, go on with the base shade and only then add dust on the lower parts and a wash in the recesses; on truck chassis, a deposit of mud on the fenders and the wheels does more than any further shading of the body.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
