This injection-molded set from the Trumpeter brand holds six small models of the American Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk catapult floatplane in 1:350 scale. It is not a stand-alone large model but an accessory intended for populating the decks of warship models - the battleships and cruisers of the US Navy. The box holds several pieces; the parts are simple and include clear glazing.
The Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk was an American catapult reconnaissance floatplane of the US Navy from the end of the Second World War, launched from battleships and cruisers. It served for reconnaissance, gunfire spotting and rescue duties.
Given the size of the parts, work with tweezers and a sharp knife, and glue the small joints with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin primer before painting, spray with an airbrush and mask the clear glazing. It proves worthwhile to paint the aircraft away from the ship model and to place them on it only at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
