A set of ten turned metal barrels of 203 mm caliber for models of Japanese heavy cruisers in 1:350 scale from the maker Aber. It is not a kit of a ship but a detail accessory – accurately turned barrels of the main battery that replace the plastic parts and give the gun turrets a fine, faithful and perfectly straight look with no mold seams. The set is intended for cruisers such as Atago, Kumano, Myoko and others.
Japanese heavy cruisers (the Takao class, the Mogami/Kumano class after rearmament and the Myoko class) carried a main armament of 20.3 cm (203 mm) caliber, usually arranged in five twin turrets — hence the ten barrels in the set. These guns were a key offensive weapon of the Japanese fleet of the Second World War.
Cut the barrels off the leftover stub, clean them up and fit them into the gun turrets in place of the plastic ones. Metal guarantees straight, slender barrels with no sag. Degrease before painting and use a primer suitable for metal.
This is a metal detail accessory (10 pieces), not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
