It is not a kit of a ship but a detail accessory – accurately turned barrels that replace the plastic parts and give the anti-aircraft mounts a fine, straight and faithful look with no mold seams.
The Type 89 gun of 12.7 cm caliber was the standard Japanese naval anti-aircraft weapon of the Second World War, usually mounted in twin mounts on battleships, aircraft carriers and cruisers. The set of twelve barrels matches six twin mounts.
Cut the barrels off the leftover stub, clean them up and fit them into the anti-aircraft mounts in place of the plastic ones. Metal guarantees straight, slender barrels with no sag. Degrease before painting and use a primer suitable for metal.
This is a metal detail accessory (12 pieces), not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
