The package contains twenty finely turned metal barrels of 25 mm Type 96 caliber. The metal barrels replace the tiny and easily broken plastic parts of the anti-aircraft guns and give a model a sharp, faithful look. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of a whole ship.
The gun of 25 mm caliber, the Type 96, was the standard light anti-aircraft system of the Imperial Japanese Navy. It was fitted in single, twin and triple mounts, and in the later phases of the war Japanese ships carried it in great numbers as the main weapon of the close defense against air attack.
Separate and clean up the tiny barrels carefully, then degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer. Given the small size of the parts we recommend an airbrush and fine shades of Japanese naval gray.
The set is an accessory, not a model of a ship. It is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
