The package contains twenty finely turned metal barrels of 28 mm caliber in the L/75 Mk.1 form. The metal barrels replace the tiny plastic parts of the quadruple anti-aircraft mounts and give a model a sharp, faithful look. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of a whole ship.
The anti-aircraft gun of 28 mm caliber was an early American system of the close defense, mounted mostly in quadruple mounts. It equipped American warships above all at the start of the war, before more capable weapons of larger calibers replaced it. For models of ships from that period a faithful rendering of this weapon matters.
Separate and clean up the tiny barrels carefully, then degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer. Given the small size of the parts we recommend an airbrush and fine shades of naval gray.
The set is an accessory, not a model of a ship. It is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
