Aber 1:400 railings for Japanese ships of the Second World War, first variant is a photo-etched metal detail set from the Polish maker Aber for models of warships in 1:400 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal detail set in 1:400 scale, not a standalone model. It holds lengths of ship railings in the form matching Japanese warships of the Second World War, marked as the first variant according to the number and spacing of the wires. Photo-etched railings are incomparably thinner than a plastic substitute, and in a small scale such as 1:400 they belong among the details that change the look of a model the most.
Railings ran around the whole perimeter of the decks of warships and consisted of several horizontal wires strung between slender stanchions. Different navies and different classes of ship used a different number of wires, which is why photo-etched sets are made in several variants. On a model the railings are a guide to scale — once they are on the deck, the eye immediately reads the real size of the ship.
Cut the lengths to size with sharp photo-etch scissors or with a scalpel on a hard mat. The railings are glued with cyanoacrylate glue in short sections; apply the glue with a pin so that it does not run between the wires. On long straight runs a ruler held alongside helps, and curves are best formed over a round object. It is best to spray them beforehand while they are still on the fret, and after gluing to touch up only where needed with a brush.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
