A separate decal sheet in 1:43 scale with the barcode motif as carried by the Ferrari F60 Formula 1 car. It is not a kit or a finished model — it is an accessory with which this particular marking is added to or repaired on a model. It will be appreciated by builders whose original decal was damaged, and by those building an older Formula model who want to refine its markings.
The Ferrari F60 was a Formula 1 World Championship single-seater for the 2009 season. It was based on the then new technical regulations, which brought back smooth front and rear wings and slick tires and permitted a kinetic energy recovery system. The car differed markedly from the preceding years in the aerodynamic shaping of the front and the rear, so the layout of the markings on the body is also specific to this type.
A barcode is graphics with sharp edges and fine drawing — every irregularity of the undercoat shows on it. So polish the area before applying and spray it with gloss clear varnish. Cut the sheet exactly along the edge of the print, so that the edge of the carrier film is not apparent once dry. Soak it in warm water only briefly, slide the decal off the paper onto the wet area and adjust the exact position with a soft brush, not with your fingers. Blot the excess water away with a paper tissue pressing from above, not by dragging. A flat undercoat as a rule does not call for a strong softener; too heavy a dose could wrinkle the fine drawing. Finally clear coat the model to the sheen you want, so that the edge of the film disappears.
It is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The model of the car, paints and clear coats are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
