The Skoda 1201 is a Czechoslovak passenger automobile from the middle of the 1950s, which followed on from the type 1200. The engine of around 1.2 liters, to which the type designation also refers, was housed at the front and drove the rear wheels. Besides the four-door sedan the body was also built in station wagon, ambulance and van renderings, so the same car appeared with enterprises, hospitals and the taxi service alike. A robust chassis and simple operation made it a machine that stood up to everyday running on the roads of the time.
The model captures the car in the service of the taxi trade as of 1956. This employment was precisely what was typical for the 1201: it offered decent interior space for its time and withstood the daily miles. The period color scheme and markings turn a production car into a piece that catches the eye in a display case more than the civilian version does, and it also suits a street scene of the 1950s.
This is a finished collector model in 1:43 scale, that is in the most widespread size of automobile models. A passenger car comes out at roughly ten centimeters in it, so it stays comparable in size with the other cars in a collection and fits into an ordinary display case. The model is not built, glued or finished; once unpacked it is complete.
A finished model is supplied. A display case, a base and further accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
