A custom hood for a model of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo of the 1970 model year in 1:24 scale. A single detail part that replaces the hood from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Chevrolet Monte Carlo of the first generation began to be built in 1970 as a two-door coupe with a long front hood and a short tail. It is precisely the proportions of the long hood that determine the silhouette of the vehicle, so any modification to it changes the overall expression of a model more than a change anywhere else on the bodywork.
This is a separate custom hood for a model of the Monte Carlo of the 1970 model year in 1:24 scale. The part replaces the hood from the kit and changes the look of the front of the vehicle. Which particular kit it is cut for is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Remove the original hood from the kit only after you have tried seating the new one dry. Cut the surplus material and traces of manufacture away a little distance from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder with fine paper. Choose the glue to match the material of the part, which the manufacturer's instructions give; super glue holds reliably even where cement for polystyrene has no effect. Before painting, wash the part in lukewarm water with a little dish soap and let it dry perfectly. On a degreased and primed surface automotive paint holds far better, and fine unevenness is easily found in the primer and sanded out.
The part will be appreciated by builders of automobile models in 1:24 scale who want to set their vehicle apart from the shape given by the kit. A kit of the vehicle, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
