A6M2 Zero (Zeke) cockpit set 1:48 is a resin cockpit from SBS Model for models of the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero carrier fighter. A detail accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aftermarket detail accessory from the Hungarian company SBS Model. The set replaces the standard cockpit on models of the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero carrier fighter (Allied designation Zeke) in 1:48 scale. It combines finely cast resin parts with photo-etched metal and a printed instrument panel film. The cast cockpit floor also forms the upper surface of the wing center section and adds a number of small controls.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the main Japanese carrier fighter of the Second World War and a symbol of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. The A6M2 version made its name in the first years of the war in the Pacific. The open cockpit with its clearly visible interior makes it a rewarding target for detailing.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and fit them; bend the photo-etched parts over an edge and bond them with super glue. Build up the instrument panel with its film layer by layer. Paint and highlight the interior before closing up the fuselage. Sand with respiratory protection.
The accessory is supplied as unpainted resin and photo-etched parts. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
