The Albatros D.III Oeffag is the Austro-Hungarian license version of the German Albatros D.III fighter. It was built by the Oeffag works in Wiener Neustadt and differed from the German pattern in several batches, most noticeably in the shape of the front part of the fuselage. The fuselage was a monocoque covered with plywood, so on the finished machine the wood grain was visible over a large area. That grain is what decides whether a model looks faithful.

The drawing of the growth rings is reduced to the scale of the model, so the result is finer and more regular than brush painting. The set takes care of the areas where imitating wood by hand succeeds only with difficulty.
They are wet decals. First level the base, paint it and overcoat it with gloss varnish: on a smooth glossy surface the decal will not go gray and no silvered edges will form under it. Cut the piece out, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds, let it rest and then slide it off the paper into place. Blot the excess water with a soft cloth and on shaped areas use a decal softener so that the print is pressed against the detail. Once thoroughly dry, overcoat with matte or semi-matte varnish.
The model kit, paints, varnishes and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
