1:48 Ammo Belt Flexible WWI is a flexible ammunition belt for First World War machine guns from GasPatch models, 300 mm long.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is not an aircraft model but a small accessory for finishing one. You divide the flexible ammunition belt of 300 mm into pieces as needed and use it where the kit offers only a suggested detail or none at all. The pattern of the belt matches ammunition of the First World War period.
The machine guns of the first combat aircraft were fed from fabric belts led from containers in the fuselage to the weapon above the engine or into the observer's movable position. On biplanes with an open cockpit this run is almost always visible, because the weapons were not hidden under cowlings. A flexible belt therefore helps a great deal here: it can be curved over the edge of the container and left hanging freely in a way that a rigid plastic part cannot manage.
First dry-fit the run of the belt from the container to the weapon, mark the length you need and only then cut with a sharp blade between the rounds. Clean and degrease the part so that paint holds. Paint the fabric part of the belt in a muted shade of undyed cloth and the rounds in brass; a dark wash flowed into the recesses helps to separate the two materials. Avoid a heavy coat of clear, as it would crack when bent once cured. Secure the final position with a drop of super glue and leave the rest of the belt free.
The package contains the ammunition belt only. The weapon, the model, paints and glue are not included. The part is small and does not belong in the hands of small children.
