An injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian Ansaldo SVA.5 biplane of the First World War in 1:48 scale from Smer. It is a classic kit of an older cut with raised surface detail; for the exact contents of the package and the markings on offer, follow the enclosed instructions. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Ansaldo SVA.5 was an Italian biplane powered by a strong inline engine, which stood out for its high speed, range and ceiling. It was originally created as a fighter, but because of its lesser agility it proved itself mainly as a fast reconnaissance aircraft and light bomber. It made its name on long-distance flights at the end of the First World War and was among the fastest machines of its day.
Seat the interplane struts precisely and do not forget the rigging; add the bracing wires only once the model has been varnished. An older mold with raised surface detail calls for the seams to be filled and sanded down with care. Spray the base coat over a primer; the wooden and fabric surfaces of the fuselage come into their own with the shades of varnished wood and a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
