This is a resin set of wheels in 1:48 scale from DEF Model, meant for refining a plastic model of the four-engine B-17 Flying Fortress bomber in the F and G versions. The set replaces the stock plastic wheels with more faithfully executed resin parts with a realistic tread and hubs. It is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory for a base model. The target kit is the Revell one.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress was an American four-engine heavy bomber used in the Second World War, famous for daylight strategic bombing over Europe and for its heavy defensive armament. The F and G versions were among the most widespread and differed among other things in the chin turret.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent, carefully cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Resin wheels are usually cast with a hint of tire loading, so take care over the correct orientation of the contact patch.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
