1:48 Bf 109 G-6 painting masks from SX-Art are self-adhesive masks for spraying camouflage onto a model of this fighter. They are not canopy masks but an aid for painting the airframe.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masks for spraying the camouflage pattern onto a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 fighter in 1:48 scale. The film with the cut-out shapes is laid onto a cured base shade and serves to make the patches and transitions repeatable and precise when sprayed. Do not confuse them with canopy masks: those cover the clear parts, while this set deals with the surface of the airframe.
The Bf 109 G-6 was one of the most numerously produced versions of the German single-engined fighter. It was powered by the liquid-cooled DB 605 engine and carried the characteristic bulges over the machine gun breeches on the cowling. It is by these that the version can be told apart at first glance from the earlier subvariants of the G line.
On this subject the camouflage on the spine of the fuselage and on the wing is made up of smaller patches, where what matters is that the coat really is thin. Thin the paint more than usual and spray in short passes at low pressure, ideally straight down from above. The mask holds well on the wing; on the rounded fuselage spine lay it on from the centerline toward the edges and cut it where it gives trouble. Remove it once the paint has set, not after it has fully cured.
The package contains painting masks only. The model, paints and thinner are not part of the delivery.
