A supplementary set for the late Gustav in the G-10 form, 1:48 scale. It contains cut-outs for the glazing outside and inside, one mask for the national insignia and metal components, the muzzles of a pair of MG 131 and the tube of the sensor.
Responsibility details are not available.
The G-10 designation does not belong to a further stage of development but to an attempt to bring production into a single form in the autumn of 1944. A more powerful powerplant was fitted into airframes of the older batches, and various combinations of fairings, bulges and tail surfaces were taken over in the process according to what each factory happened to have. The result is a version on which two photographs of the same designation often differ in details, and a modeler therefore has to work from a particular machine, not from a general description of the sub-version.
The film covers the glazing from both sides, one mask for the national insignia is enclosed and metal pieces: the ends of both onboard weapons and the sensor. The shapes are based on the Hasegawa kit.
Four things are enough. Tweezers with a bent tip, because straight ones cannot get under the edge of an inner cut-out. A sharp scalpel for lifting the film off the backing. A hand drill with a bit around half a millimeter for the holes in the weapon fairings. And a cotton bud dipped in alcohol for degreasing the glazing, because film bleeds on a greasy surface and paint gets under the edge. Nothing else is needed, no glue for the film and no varnish under it.
This set encloses a single insignia mask; other variants for the same aircraft have a pair of them. Before you decide, check in the list of contents how many masks you get, because it is in exactly this figure that the individual sets differ.
