1:48 Boeing CH-47A Chinook is an Eduard photo-etched detail set for a kit of the twin-rotor Chinook helicopter in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model of the helicopter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts in thin metal sheet intended for refining a kit of the heavy transport helicopter CH-47A in 1:48 scale. The package does not hold a model of the helicopter; it is an accessory to a kit you have already bought. The maker is the Czech firm Eduard. The particular make-up of the parts is not stated here.
The CH-47A Chinook is the first production version of the heavy transport helicopter with a tandem arrangement of two lifting rotors. The layout without a tail rotor makes it possible to use the full power of both turboshaft engines for carrying a load and gives the helicopter a wide permissible range of center of gravity. The fuselage has a rectangular cross section with a cargo compartment along its whole length and with a hinged ramp at the rear. In 1:48 scale the Chinook is a large model with long flat surfaces, on which every thick-walled part shows at first glance.
Separate the parts with a scalpel on a hard surface and degrease them, otherwise metal glues and paints badly. Bend longer straight parts in a modeling bender; on a large fuselage it pays to offer each part up dry first and check whether it seats into the engraved lines. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue in a minimal quantity. The places where photo-etched parts go usually call for the original plastic relief to be cut away and the area leveled with abrasive paper.
The accessory set is supplied without a kit, glue or paints.
