The small Hauler 1:48 Crusader Mk.I/II dust covers photo-etched set completes the plastic model of the British cruiser tank. It is not a kit but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small photo-etched set from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:48 scale, aimed at the dust covers on the model of the British Crusader cruiser tank in the Mk.I and Mk.II versions. The set is cut for the Tamiya kit and completes it with items that cannot be produced from plastic in a matching thickness. The model itself is not included.
Crusaders served mainly in North Africa, where fine sand got in everywhere and damaged both the moving parts and the cooling system. Crews and workshops therefore dealt with protection against dust using both improvised and production covers. On a model it is a small thing, but one that immediately sets the machine in a desert environment and tells it apart from the factory form out of the box.
The set is small and the parts are fine, so it pays to prepare your workplace. Work over a light tray with rims, so that a part you cut off does not end up in the carpet. To move them, use tweezers with sharp points or a cocktail stick with a dab of beeswax, which a part sticks to and releases again under the pressure of the glue. Dose the glue with the tip of a needle in negligible drops. Degrease the metal with alcohol before gluing, and once finished spray the whole model with a primer for metal, or the paint will not hold on smooth sheet.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
