A detailed photo-etched set from Eduard aimed at the landing flaps of the plastic model of the Dornier Do 215B-5 night fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory. The set lets you replace the coarser plastic flaps with a fine photo-etched structure and, as a rule, show them in the extended position, which brings the underside of the wing to life markedly.
The Do 215B-5 was the night fighter version of the German twin-engine Dornier Do 215 of the Second World War period. It came about by reworking a reconnaissance and bomber airframe and was equipped for night interception. It ranked among the early German night fighters.
The flaps are made up of several photo-etched layers, which are bent in a photo-etch bending tool and joined with super glue. The matching parts of the plastic flaps have to be cut away carefully and cleaned up. Degrease the parts before the clear coat and spray on a primer.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
