1:48 Douglas B-26C Invader is the basic single-sided Eduard masking set for the glazing of a model in 1:48 scale. It covers the outer side of the glazing, so it is neither the double-sided TFace variant nor a photo-etched set.

The item belongs to the masking line of Eduard in its basic, single-sided form. Inside you will find self-adhesive paper templates die-cut to the shape of the glazed parts, which are stuck onto the outer side of the glazing, sprayed over and removed once dry. It differs from the double-sided TFace variant in having no second set of templates for the inner side of the frames. What separates it from the other accessory lines of the same manufacturer is its purpose: a full etch adds metal parts, the pre-painted Zoom finished color patches, the Brassin line resin castings and decals a printed motif, whereas a mask disappears from the model once the work is done.
The Invader originally carried the designation A-26 and after the postwar change of system it became the B-26. Do not confuse it with the Martin B-26 Marauder, which is an entirely different type with the same number. The glazing of the Invader is lower and more angular than on the greenhouse bombers of the period, so the frames are straight but narrow and in 1:48 scale they are hard to hold with hand-cut tape.
First wash the glazing in lukewarm soapy water, rinse it and let it dry. Transfer the template with tweezers, lay it down dry and press the edges with a blunt stick so that no edge stands proud anywhere. Spray thinly and in several coats; a thick coat at the edge of the mask creates a step that shows once it is removed. Before you release the top shade, go over the edges of the mask with a thin coat of the underlying color: the gap fills and the main color will not flow underneath. Remove the masks once dry, pulling at an angle.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
