Aires 1:48 F-100 Super Sabre speed brake (late version) is a resin detail set that replaces the plastic brake with a faithful resin part.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Aires resin detail set in 1:48 scale replaces the lower speed brake of a model of the North American F-100 Super Sabre with a faithfully rendered resin part matching the late versions of the aircraft. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that makes it possible to show the brake in the deployed position, together with the detail of its well. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The North American F-100 Super Sabre was the first production supersonic fighter of the US Air Force and belonged to the so-called Century Series. It was powered by the Pratt & Whitney J57 turbojet and carried a hinged speed brake under the fuselage. The later versions differed in modifications to the airframe and to the brake surface.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent from the mold. Separate them from the casting blocks by cutting, not by snapping, and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand the resin with respiratory protection or wet. Spray the brake well with a base coat and bring it out with a wash so that the internal structure shows.
It is supplied as an unglued and unpainted resin set. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
