A detail cockpit set for the two-seat trainer version of the Lockheed F-104D Starfighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. It is a resin accessory that replaces the basic cockpit interior from a plastic kit with a finely detailed assembly: a cockpit tub, instrument panels, side consoles, levers and seats.
The F-104 Starfighter was an American supersonic fighter and interceptor from the end of the 1950s with a characteristic slim fuselage and short straight wings. The F-104D version was a two-seat trainer variant with a lengthened cockpit for two seats one behind the other, intended to train pilots on this fast type.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding. The interior comes into its own best once painted and the details picked out gently with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
