This detail set from the Czech manufacturer CMK brings a precisely cast C-2 ejection seat for models of the Lockheed F-104G/J Starfighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but a cockpit accessory that replaces the simpler seat from the basic kit with a more faithful rendering. The basis is resin, and the details may be supplemented by photo-etched parts.
The C-2 seat is a key element of an open Starfighter cockpit. The resin casting carries fine detail on the frame, the padding and the straps, which on plastic parts tend to be only suggested. The replacement markedly improves the look of the cockpit.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut the casting blocks off and clean the surfaces up with your breathing protected. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. The seat is usually painted in sub-assemblies and brought out with washes and a dry brush; the straps are finished separately.
This is a supplementary resin detail set, not a model. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
