A wooden deck in 1:700 scale for a model of the Japanese submarine tender Jingei, cut for the Pit-Road W36 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Jingei was a submarine tender of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Vessels of this kind served submarine units as a floating base: they replenished their supplies and armament, allowed repairs and gave the crews rest outside the cramped spaces of a submarine. In shape they differ from warships by a long superstructure and an extensive working deck, which is clearly visible on the model.
A deck sheet of wooden veneer for 1:700 scale, cut for the Pit-Road kit with the catalog number W36. The planks and the gaps between them come from the division of the veneer, not from printing or engraving in plastic, so the surface has a pattern and a structure of its own. The cutouts for the superstructures and the deck equipment are prepared in advance according to the kit given.
Clean the deck of the kit and sand it flat, because thin veneer copies the base along with its unevenness. Lay the sheet on dry and check the position of the cutouts. Whether the underside has an adhesive layer is given in the manufacturer's instructions; if it does not, use a glue suitable for wood and apply it thinly, so that it does not creep into the gaps. Press it down from the center toward the edges through a soft pad and cut the excess away with a sharp blade only after it has settled.
The ship kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The extent of the package is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
