This is a resin accessory, not an airplane kit. The set is intended for the two-seat versions of the Northrop F-5 light fighter, that is, for the F-5B and the F-5F, in 1:48 scale. The two-seat configuration has a lengthened cockpit with two stations, so access to the cockpit is handled differently than on the single-seat versions, and the shape of the ladders in this set matches that.
A model parked on the apron only looks convincing once there is equipment around it. A ladder standing against it gives the scene its scale, suggests preparation for a flight or a return from one, and naturally opens up room for a figure of ground crew. On two-seat trainers this is all the more marked, because the ladder leads to both stations and becomes the dominant element at the side of the fuselage.
Wash the resin parts in warm soapy water so that the mold release residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a razor saw, do not snap them, and sand the cut with respiratory protection, as resin dust must not be inhaled. It is glued with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate; ordinary plastic cement does not work. Apply a primer before painting. Pick out the structure of the ladder with a fine wash, suggest chipping on the rungs and dust the bottom of the legs with pigment so that the model blends into the base.
