This set represents Soviet and Russian high-explosive fragmentation aerial bombs of 500 kg caliber from the FAB-500M line in 1:48 scale. It is not a stand-alone model but a resin accessory of carried armament with which you complement the stores of fighter and attack aircraft. The resin castings offer fine detail of the bomb body, the fins and the fuze. The set will be appreciated by builders who want to arm their model with a realistic load.
The abbreviation FAB denotes a high-explosive fragmentation aerial bomb, and the number gives the 500 kg weight class. The M line covers several generations of all-metal bombs developed from the middle of the twentieth century onward, the later and more aerodynamic versions being adapted for supersonic carriers as well. The bombs belonged to the basic armament of Soviet and Russian tactical aircraft such as MiG and Su types.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks with a sharp knife and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Unify the bomb body with a primer, then spray the shade according to the chosen scheme and bring out the engraving and the seams with a darker wash. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue, paints and the racks are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
