Aerobonus 1:48 German or Austro-Hungarian aircraft mechanic of the First World War - a resin figure of ground personnel for dioramas with aircraft of 1914-1918.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure of an aircraft mechanic of the German or Austro-Hungarian air service of the First World War period in 1:48 scale. The set comes from the Aerobonus range of the Czech firm Aires and is intended for experienced modelers who want to complete a model of a period aircraft with a figure of ground personnel.
Mechanics were an indispensable part of the air units of the First World War. The aircraft of the day, with rotary and inline engines alike, needed constant maintenance - adjusting the engines, tensioning the bracing wires, repairing the fabric covering and topping up fluids before every flight. A figure of a mechanic in period working clothes therefore belongs naturally to every scene of a field airfield of 1914-1918, whether beside the machines of the German air service or those of the Austro-Hungarian air service.
Wash the casting in soapy water, remove the casting blocks and glue any joints with super glue (cyanoacrylate); use respiratory protection while sanding. Paint with a brush and acrylic paints in the subdued shades of working clothes, and bring out the volume of the folds with oil or acrylic shading. The figure comes into its own beside an aircraft on a simple field airfield base.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin casting. It is not an aircraft model - the basic kit is not included in the package.
