A set of replacement exhaust nozzles for a model of the Grumman F-14D Tomcat carrier-borne fighter in 1:48 scale. According to the name it contains the open as well as the closed standard, so the builder chooses the position according to which moment the model is to capture. The nozzles are among the places where the level of a model shows at first glance: the plastic parts from a kit tend to have thick rims and a shallow interior.
The F-14 Tomcat was a twin-engine carrier-borne fighter with a crew of two and with a variable-sweep wing. The F-14D version was the last and the most modern, differed from the older machines in its equipment and in the rear of the fuselage, and that is exactly why the shape of the nozzles is worth dealing with separately on it.
The exhaust sections tend to be scorched and different in color from the rest of the aircraft. A metallic base has proved itself, on it fine transitions into brown and blue and finally a dry brush that lifts the edges of the petals. Choose the position of the nozzles according to photographs of the subject in the state the model shows.
A set of add-on parts is supplied. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
