The set contains pre-cut kabuki paper masks for spraying the national insignia and the supplementary markings of a model of the twin-engine Heinkel He 111 in the H-20 subversion, in 1:48 scale. According to its name it covers three camouflage schemes, numbered 2, 3 and 4, for which the respective units are given. These are not glazing masks, which the manufacturer offers separately. The exact scope of the sheet is not stated here, because the name does not specify it.
A marking sprayed through a mask has no carrier film, so on matte camouflage it does not create the glossy outline that arises with decals through so-called silvering. The insignia is part of the paint, it can be sanded, weathered and locally scuffed just like its surroundings, and when a worn machine is being built it looks natural. Three schemes in one item moreover give you room to decide on the variant later, according to how the build turns out.
Varnish a smooth gloss base under the insignia and let it cure fully, otherwise the paint will seep under into the structure of the surface. Lay the masks down dry with tweezers and always press the whole perimeter including the inner cutouts. Spray the paint at right angles to the surface, thinly and over several passes, because an angled spray seeps under the edge of the mask. Lift the masks shortly after the varnish has flashed off, starting with the inner pieces. Check the edges against the light before the final matte coat.
The package contains masks only. The kit, the paints, the glue and the decals are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
