A photo-etched cockpit set for the Heinkel He 162 Salamander in 1:48 scale from Brengun. It is an accessory to a Dragon kit you have already bought, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set of photo-etched metal parts for detailing the cockpit of an He 162 model in 1:48 scale. The set holds no plastic parts of the aircraft; it assumes you already have the base Dragon kit. It is one of the more extensive interior sets Brengun makes.
The Heinkel He 162 was a German single-engine jet fighter from the end of the Second World War. The jet engine was mounted above the fuselage and, because of the shortage of metals, the airframe had a number of wooden parts. The cockpit is easy to see into on a model, so detailing pays off, especially the sidewalls, the instrument panel and the seat with its belts.
Work on a light surface and over a space where a small part will not be lost; photo-etched components tend to be smaller than a pinhead. Cut the fret, never snap it. Make the bends in one go and accurately, as repeated re-bending work-hardens the metal and breaks it. Parts that are to be a single shade all over are better painted while still in the fret, which saves handling. Test-fit the assembled cockpit into one half of the fuselage before you glue anything permanently: photo-etched sidewalls add a few tenths of a millimeter on each side and the fuselage may then not close.
The accessory set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
