This plastic kit from Trumpeter represents the Chinese J-7B fighter aircraft in 1:48 scale. The box holds injection-molded plastic, a clear cockpit part, a small photo-etched part and a decal sheet. The model has a slender fuselage with a nose air intake and a tailless delta wing.
The J-7 is a Chinese single-engine supersonic fighter derived from the design of the Soviet MiG-21, built in China under license and in further revised versions as well. The J-7B version is among the variants operated both for export and at home. With its delta wing and nose air intake the aircraft served with the People's Liberation Army Air Force and with a number of foreign operators.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with liquid cement for plastic. The cylindrical fuselage calls for careful alignment of the halves and sanding of the joint. Apply the metallic and camouflage finishes with an airbrush, use a gloss clear coat before the decals and even out the surface with an overcoat at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
