A photo-etched set for the model of the Jagdpanther tank destroyer in 1:48 scale, cut for the Tamiya kit. It replaces thick plastic parts with thin metal.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Jagdpanther was a German tank destroyer of the Second World War. On the chassis and lower hull of the Panther medium tank it placed a low fixed superstructure with well sloped frontal armor, and in it a powerful 88 mm gun. The result was a vehicle with great penetration and a low silhouette, which was however built in relatively small numbers. It is the low superstructure that makes the Jagdpanther a rewarding subject, because the flat armor surfaces let every detail on them stand out.
This is a photo-etched set, that is, parts etched from thin metal sheet. It replaces those parts of the kit that are necessarily too thick in plastic, typically grilles, loops, clasps and similar thin-walled items. According to the name the set is intended for the Tamiya kit in 1:48 scale. The exact list of parts and the assembly sequence is given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by breaking them out, or they will bend. Run the bends in a bender or between the jaws of flat pliers so that the edge comes out sharp and straight. It is bonded with super glue; polystyrene cement does not hold on metal. Before painting, wash the metal, degrease it and give it a primer coat, or the paint will flake off during handling.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
